Irsina is a tiny historic town on a hill with glorious views of rolling wheat fields in the region of Basilicata. Basilicata has two coastlines, one in the Ionian Sea, and a tiny on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Discover a region unspoiled by mass tourism just yet. Irsina is within an easy reach of Bari airport (45 minutes) where major standard and low cost airlines fly direct. The other airports are Brindisi, (1 hour 30 minutes) or Naples ( 2 hours). Private transfers from all the airports can be organised. The bus connections between Irsina and Matera are good. There is also a train station that connects Irsina to Gravina and Bari. Irsina has four family owned restaurants that offer high quality seasonal traditional food.
There are many family owned businesses going back generations such as bakeries, green grocers, butchers and shops within walking distance from the property as well as variety of coffee shops, bars and pizzerias.The locals are very warm and friendly. The food is fantastic and the wine is fabulous.
